Manya Singh, who was born to a family of migrant laborers in Uttar Pradesh, is the runner-up in this year’s Miss India pageant.
In an interview with the Hindustan Times, Singh said that she wants to use her platform to change the perception of people from small towns and villages.
“I want to show the world that girls from small towns and villages are no less than anybody else,” she said.
