A stylish left-hand batsman, Rohan Kadam was born and brought up in Belgaum but moved to Bangalore when he was 16 to pursue a career in cricket. Being a consistent run-getter in the first division league in Bangalore, Rohan’s first big breakthrough came when was included in the Karnataka squad for the Vijay Hazare Trophy in 2017 and made his debut against Chattisgarh. But he had a not-so-memorable outing scoring 17 which wasn’t sufficient to cement his place in the team, thanks to the never-ending influx of batting talent in Karnataka.
A slight tweak in his batting technique under the guidance of RX Murali worked wonders for the Southpaw. Strong shows in the DY Patil Tournament, followed by the YSR tournament in 2018 paved the way for his comeback into the state team for the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy in 2018-19. Kadam continued his blazing form and racked up 536 runs in 12 innings including a match-defining 39-ball 60 in the final against Maharashtra. He topped the batting charts and led Karnataka’s whopping 14-match winning streak. Rohan Kadam was in the radar of many IPL teams and he even attended a few trails but unfortunately couldn’t bag a contract.
